The Ultimate Development Machine

Well almost.
On the quest to be able to program in almost any language of choice, I've recently "re-vamped" my PC here. It finally arrived from Florida, and since my other PC's are in storage, I had to adapt it to meet all my development needs.
I used to use different PC's to run Apache and IIS, in fact I have a dedicated development server just to test ASP / ASP.NET applications. Lately I've been using PHP a lot more, but I still use ASP so I needed to run IIS too. I've been wanting to install Linux to be able to test Apache in it's natural environment. So I decided to use Mandrake and have it dual boot with Windows XP.

On Windows, I've hacked it to run IIS on XP Home. Once that was running OK, I installed the .NET Framework 1.1 and the .NET SDK. I plan to install the development version of SQL Server, but currently my ASP applications run off MySQL so I waited for MSDE. I said "Hello World" in Classic ASP and VB.NET, shutdown the services, and went on to install the "Open Source" stuff!
Since I'm used to testing on Windows, I installed the Windows versions of Apache 1.3.28, PHP 4.3.3, MySQL 4.0.15, and Perl. I also wanted to install Tomcat with mod_jk so I can hone my Java skills. The JDK was also required for Tomcat.

When booted to Linux I have Apache 2.0, PHP, MySQL, and Perl. I also installed Python and PostgreSQL to play with those. I'm really looking forward to using Linux more, and if I can get my LinModem to work, I'll probably begin using it primarily.
